Hi guys!  Wujun’s here.

So, our game designer/programmer Nono was watching GDQ one day and got really interested in shmup games. 

She wanted to make a modern mini version of a classic shmup game like DemonStar, for herself to play with. Well, that quickly got out of hands…

The scope creep is real.        : /

But thanks to that, I present to you, the super fun "Spirit of Merkuro"!! 

Spirit of Merkuro is a top-down vertical shoot'em up, where you play as Eleanor, a member of Merkuro Elite Space Force, to defend the homeworld from invasion. The game is simple, you just need to use your clever brain, agile little fingers, and outstanding spaceship piloting skill to destroy as many enemies as you can!

...Okay, I lied. The game is hardcore somewhat difficult for a casual gamer artist like me. But Nono’s pretty good at it, so I guess it’s just me.        :0

Anyway, Spirit of Merkuro is currently at the alpha stage of development, but you can download and try out our demo level.

What we have in the demo:

Completed demo level with many types of enemy ships, bombs, skills, and one scary boss.

More levels

More enemy ships

More interesting story

Tweaks and optimization here and there
